What we can offer you

Going under and getting wet

Spalding Sub-Aqua Club is a relatively small, but friendly, dive club where people new to the diving experience are always welcome as are experienced divers and instructors with BSAC, PADI or other recognised qualifications.

We have the use of the swimming pool at the Castle Complex in Spalding. Here we carry out our sheltered-water training. We are able to provide full equipment for all of your training needs. Snorkellers, or those wishing to learn, are also welcome.

We meet Friday evenings (20:30hrs) in the pool foyer, or beforehand at our Clubhouse located in the town.

Our Clubhouse has facilities to run lectures, committee meetings, training or informal gatherings. Tea and coffee are available. Cylinders can be air-filled using our own compressor.

Training for diving is a progressive process and taken at your own speed. The pool training provides the skills and knowledge to prepare you for inland open water diving. Inland open water training is normally conducted at Gildenburgh in Whittlesey.

At Gildenburgh you will encounter various under-water features including the famous double-decker bus, a jet Provost and a Volvo lorry... as well as the local fish-life.

The Club owns a 5.3m Ribtec 75hp RIB with O2, GPS, Echo sounder and fixed VHF radio. The RIB is mainly used for coastal diving along the Norfolk coast; exploring wrecks and drift diving. We also organize weekend diving trips throughout the UK.

Many members also go on to dive further afield, such as in the warmer waters of the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. However, for most, diving in UK waters provides the best diving with some amazing sights and experiences.
